Ok, we finally have a date - not exactly what we wanted but what can you do.

He has his pre-op appointments on the 20th of December and surgery on the 21st. That will put him in the hospital over Christmas...we were hoping to have him back by then.

But it's the only open day and so...

NO. Pat...I think you have it backwards....Amling came TO OHSU about a year ago FROM Alabama!!!

Phil Knight (NIKE) gave OHSU Cancer Center a huge gift to support the Knight Cancer Center...directed by Dr. Brian Druker (developer of Gleevec). They are bringing in all kinds of hot shot docs...

it says in his bio:

and from 2008:

and apparently he does this surgery several days a week.

Lots to be found on him:

www.ohsu.edu/xd/about/news_events/news/2009/urology011609.cfm

www.patientpower.info/bio/christopher-amling-md-facs

www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Christopher_Amling.html

and many more.

I am pretty satisfied that he has a lot of experience and I asked a lot of questions of his nurse. I like her too, she has a lot of knowledge.

So I am not too worried on that level...
