Hear guys talking about, i think it was texas condom for catching up on sleep? Is this something you buy or make???

Thanks everyone.

Today is one day better! Mike I've had surgeries and chemos before, I've always had digestive track problems. this time i quit all pain meds after day four cause i new they were a problem for me. I decided i would rather deal with pain then stress and worry over digestive track. I guess it worked, but the pain meds are still tempting. For me at lease and I believe many others, Doctors don,t put much though into this problem. I know in my case if i could both use pain meds and not need to stress over digestive track it would all go much better.
At the same time i'm alive so i can't complain. And today i feel a day better. And i am starting to feel i'm on track as george said.
Thanks everyone.

You seem to be right on track for a good recovery. It will seem slow at first (new plumbing is always a work in progress) but your posts seem to show that you are at the same pace as most of us were.
At this stage....don't push it too much.
After a month... push is more than you think.
I never gave much thought to what I ate before surgery. I had a cast iron stomach... Now, not so much. But that is not a bad thing either.

You are doing fine! Keep posting and giving us updates. We'll tell you if you go off track....believe me!

There is also evidence that "bowel prep" prior to RC may make it take longer for the bowels to wake up.

Forgot to mention that in my previous post.

Yaaayyyyy!!!!!!

Being another one that has problems with intestines waking up, I understand......

Glad to hear things are working again.

Sometimes I wonder if all the antibiotics don't kill the good bacteria in the intestines when one gets an RC or bowel resection. If so, then yoghurt and/or acidophilus should help repopulate the "good bacteria" in the gut and get things working again.

BTW: I read somewhere that they figured out that the appendix helps to repopulte the good bacteria as it usually retains the bacteria even when the rest of the gut does not. For years, they thought the appendix was left over from caveman days and served no purpose.
