Having gone through 3 courses of Chemo, then an RC on 11/05, I'm now home and on the way (I hope) to recovery. It's great to be home and not be stuck to get blood at 2:00 AM and have my blood pressure checked at 4:00 am.
It's hard to believe that the surgery is finally over after anticipating it since July. I did get anemic at Johns Hopkins and had a transfusion. I'm on iron pills now. I also developed a fever and a UTI. Luckily the clean pathology report lifted my spirits.
So home is catheter care and monitoring my bowels. It's too early to think about my neobladder yet. I'll face that issue head on in two weeks.
Well, I just wanted everyone to know my perspective that you can come through surgery and chemo and get on the road to recovery. I know there will be potholes on the road ahead, but I guess that like everyone else, I just have to keep moving forward.
