Alice, what did you do to that "poor" turtle?! ;D - Gordon

This photo was taken in my salad days of photography and is unfortunately over edited. I still really like this scene perhaps because I remember this October morning as very crisp with an easy air and very fine weather. I also like the little ducks. This photo is taken at a Marina in my hometown of New Bern, NC.

Alice, I think this is what you call a photo opportunity! ;D I hope you didnt' tickle his belly.

Rosemary, that is funny because that is the reason I had my brother stop the car in the first place, so I could get him off of the road. I did stop a car that was coming from the other way in which the side the turtle was on. I was glad we had stopped. I have to admit though, we did have some fun with him before we let him back in the water and I too was very afraid after I heard that first hiss and snap

I agree with you Alice. That's a little too close for comfort. Really neat pic though.

One of the reasons that I liked my (ex) boyfriend is because when we saw a turtle trying to get across the highway, I would pull over, and he would go and pick him up and take him to the ditch on the side of the road so he wouldn't get run over. I've done this myself before, but, to be honest, I'm pretty scared of turtles.
