Glad to hear you are coping. I often wondered how you were getting on.

Best wishes,

Yes, it usually not a problem for men to cath either. Since mine is already stretched out I don't have to go that often. I go maybe once every four hours now.

Used to be every 20-30 minutes when I first woke up for a couple/few hours and then every hour to hour and half for the rest of the day and lots of times to get up in the night. That's BEFORE I had bladder cancer.

I cath every time I go and since men have an external attachment device, I just roll a condom catheter over mine at night and sleep all night long.

There is an UPSIDE to neobladder. Wish I would have been able to just urinate normally, but that wasn't in the cards, so no big deal.

For men, once the prostate is removed, using a catheter is no big deal at all.

Hi to all neo's with any and all problems,

I had my neo bladder two years ago this May.

I cannot void and have to cath every 2 1/2 hours, day and night. I still drink a lot of water. I work full time, swim every day for 20 minutes, and have a very normal life, except to have to cath.

Any one who is reading this, do not get discouraged. After having to cath for over a year, a sling is not recommended at all by my surgeon, just another place that the "C" can form, it becomes second nature.

Just letting all of you know, even with the neo and its problems, "attitude" is a big part!

Keep smiling.
Silk
