Julie,

We are doing OK...Angelo did get the "Flare" of bone pain as expected from the quadramet...the Dr. says it is a good sign, and that some releif is on the way...

He has been eating well over the past week, and actually has asked for specific meals...what a change...even thou we know most of this is temporary, we are enjoying the respite...

The physical therapist comes 2x's a week, and I take him to a indoor pool at the local physical therapy office a few times a week as well...the relief while in the pool is amazing, the whole body is bouyant, so there are not pressure points...

I am praying for you guys,
Karen

I will definitely keep the appointment with the knee specialist. Dick's radiation treatment is scheduled for 1:45 and I will drop him off early and go see the knee Dr. as my appointment is at 2:10. All the Doctors around here want everyone to be 15 minutes early anyway.

You are right it is easier when he is at home but the hospital was the right place to be for the pneumonia.
Karen, How are you and Angelo these days? Julie

Julie,

Remember that you cannot take care of Dick if you don't take care of yourself...make sure that you set up an appt. with YOUR Dr., Call in a favor, and have someone stay with Dick...You are a priority too...We caregivers tend to forget that...(me included)...I am so glad he is home...easier for you both...

Thinking of you,
Karen

The good news is Dick came home today. The kidney problems were caused by the radiologist giving him IV contrast when they did the CT scan last Sunday. The kidney specialist were called in and they thought he should recover back to what his functioning had been the last several months. Today his creatinine level was back down to 1.5 from 2.1. The pneumonia is resolving. Dick still wheezes upon exertion but it calms down. The hardest part was having to climb steps to get in the house. He can start the Radiation Therapy Wednesday.

I stayed home this morning to get things ready here for him. My knee is getting worse and Aleve and Tylenol are not helping as much as I would like. I finally took a hydrocodone so I can go grocery shopping and pick up Dick's prescriptions. My gut was acting up today again. i tend to panic when I have digestive tract problems since I had the ruptured colon last year and had to have my sigmoid colon removed. I can be fooled as usually when I am anxious I get colitis. I also get muscle spasm in my neck and shoulders. I am hoping for a restful weekend in preparation for next weeks round of appointments. Five days until I can see the orthopedic specialist.
