Susan, No need to be sorry. I know you comment when you can just like the rest of us. Sometimes we can't make all the comments we would like to. I do think of everyone on this forum caregivers and survivors alike.

I took myself to Urgent Care this morning. First I made sure Dick's blood sugars were acceptable. The Dr. knew right where the pain was. Said it was probably arthritis as it was along the joint line. They took 3 x-rays pronounced I had Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD). He gave me a steroid shot in the knee to help relieve the pain. I would say it makes a good 60% difference. The pain was excruciating and close to intolerable. And I have had severe pain. When people say they have bone on bone I now know what they mean. I asked for the x-rays and will take them to the knee specialist Wednesday.

Julie -- I am sorry to be slow to add my happiness that Dick is home and
my concern that you be sure to take care of your knee. (But you know why
I was a tad slow.) In support -- Susan

Karen, Isn't it nice to have him request something that is so much better than no appetite. The PT will really help Angelo regain some lost abilities. As soon as Dick's port site heals he can go to the pool. We are lucky to have one a block from us with a hot tub also. The water is kept as warm as a therapy pool as everyone here is elderly.
Our next trick is to use the handicap transportation system here. We want to practice so we know how it works. They will come to the door and can be used for more than medical appointments. Plus if someone needs an attendant there is no charge for the attendant. This is in preparation in case I can't drive for a few weeks.
I expect you are very busy what with taking Angelo to appointments and the pool plus having young children who need transporting. Take care. Julie
