Carmine, in my signature at the bottom of this post is a link to a journal of my own chemo.

As in everything else, take an ipod. If you don't have one, buy one. You'll thank me later.

Hi Karen and Holly!
I also would be interested in hearing more about chemo treatments. I am getting my schedule on Wed. the 21st. I already know I will get 3 months of treatment if it goes well. The Oncologist told me I will get Cisplatin & Gemzar the first week, then Gemzar the second then Gemzar the third, then off one week. Then the same after that totalling three treatments. He only mentioned the side effects that others have discussed here, but without elaboration. Others here have talked a lot about it, but it may help more if it were discussed in one place.
Thanks
Carmine

Hi Karen,

I did 4 months of cisplatin and gemzar. I had problems with my feet feeling like some had beat the bottoms of them with sticks. They felt tight and tender - made walking difficult. I also had something like it in my hands - made it difficult to hold things without dropping them. It was worse on the 3rd and 4th months but did get better after chemo was done - took a few weeks tho.
I had other side effects, too.
Good luck and God Bless, Holly

Would any of you care to share your experience with Chemotherapy in general but specifically your Neuropathyies.

My husband is experiencing numbness on the tops of his feet, and down the side of the forearm to the pinkie and ring finger.

Have your symptoms gotten better? Or are the nerves permanently damaged?

Maybe we should have a Chemo Section? Chemo is used in so many stages of this disease (not just metastatic) it would be great to get the thoughts of others undergoing this treatment.

Thanks,
Karen
