How long - nerve sparing surgery to functioning?

DAYS?!? Did you say DAYS!?!? That's certainly not what I was expecting to hear. Glad it worked out well for him so soon. I suppose that the guys I tell to expect 6 months to 3 years will be pleasantly surprised if things work as quickly for them as they did for your husband. Except that side effect doesn't sound so great. :(

My husband's function returned to normal within days after the cystoprostatectomy. The only trouble he has is a very sharp pain after climax which can last a minute or two. He may start some medication for that but it has significant side effects so he's avoided it so far (the medication, not IT!)

Bill,

As long as the BCG keeps working for you, you won't have to worry.

There are other things they can give you in the mean time until normal functioning returns.

However, a case can certainly be made for "Make hay while the sun shines".

Just wondering about how much time it took others who have had the nerve sparing prostatectomy before normal function returned. I guess for that matter, of all the people who have had the nerve sparing surgery, how long ago has it been even if you are not back to normal function?

My uro said it can take from six months up to three years but I'd like to hear from people who've had the surgery.

Thanks,

Mike
