My uro has it as part of his follow-up protocol. I have had two since my surgery.
Since we had a bit of a scare prior to the surgery from my local uro thinking it had gone to both kidneys, my cancer center uro agreed that it would be a good idea to do the cytology not long after my RC to be sure there were no more cancer cells present. I think it was at about the two month post op time period.
My second was just recently at the eight month point.
I'm going to ask (if he doesn't) every six months. Since my was invisible CIS, the cytology was the first place it showed up and I want to know ASAP if it does come back.
