I think it might have been Studer in 1989......or at least one that worked!
One of the reasons i picked the Indiana Pouch was i figured if i became incompacitated it would not be a big deal to cath me through my navel...if, of course, they remembered to do it.
It's Indiana pouch, not INDIAN. Looks like 1987 is when it was done at Indiana University Hospital. There is a reference to when their work was published in the Wikipedia article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_pouch#cite_note-0
Don't know when the neobladder got it's start.
Not sure about the caregiver part so I'll have to let someone else step in to answer that.
The neo bladder is the newest. Does anyone know how long they have been used? What about the INDIAN Pouch how long have they ben used? Does anyone now someone that has had either for 15 years and have they had problem after 10 years? What is easier for a caregiver if you get old and can not take care of youself? Just some questions.
Motomike sent me a PM about the link not working. I fixed it in the above post and am also posting the link here again. It appears that 'tinyurl' may expire after some time if people don't use the link or something.
