Thank you, each one of you, for all your sweet thoughts, messages and prayers. I can't explain how much it helps just knowing y'all are there.

To update on Jerry...
This morning as we were gathering before mom's funeral Jerry's oncologist called. He'd felt strongly that the areas of concern from the CT scan 2 weeks ago were large enough to biopsy, however the hospital apparently didn't agree. So after 2 weeks of their "discussing" the situation the end result is they are now going to schedule him for a PET scan asap. So, now we are waiting for the call back about when that will be. We are prayerful that this test will reveal there is no recurrrence of Jerry's bladder cancer (stage IV).
I will update once we know.

And, again, thank you all...words will never express how much you've meant to me...

Just a short 13 days after her diagnosis my sweet mom passed away Monday. It has been such a shock. Her doc had felt she had a few months left, so we had not even had time to have most of our extended family come in to visit with her yet. I am so thankful, however, that because she slipped away so quickly she did not have to experience her body failing. We (my bro and sis, and our spouses and children) were all able to be there with her for those last hours.

Her funeral is today. I think that's what I'm dreading the most. That one last time to see her and tell her goodbye. But as the lyrics to one of my favorite songs state:

With Hope

This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...

We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
(There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
We'll see your face again

And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father's smile and say well done
And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
'Cause now you're home
And now you're free, and ...

We have this hope as an anchor
'Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so ...

So we can cry with hope
And say goodbye with hope

We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

Dear Jerrysgirl,

I am so very sorry to read your news about your husband and mom...

May you have many more quality moments with your mom during this time...and that you have positive news with your husbands biopsy results.

Thinking of you and your family...
