Back in the 70·s I was a huge fan of Johnny Winter, a great American blues guitarist, and I alway·s hoped one day that I would see him live, but the opportunity never arose. In those days he was relatively unknown in the UK ( I had to order albums of him from the record shop - they didn·t stock them). We moved to Spain in 1982, and I thought that was it - if I never went to the States I would never acheive that dream .
But last night he did a live gig in Alicante, Spain, only 50 mins from where I live! So there we were , and what a fantastic performance - one and a half hours of incredible music, that I never thought I would hear. I felt so happy to have been able to be there - for me a dream fulfilled.
