Elevated Leukocytes: BCG but no UTI. What's it mean?

1 year 3 months ago #57838 by Alan
None of us are doctors so take it for whatever it is worth. I understand there can be leukocytes in the urine test prior to your BCG but, absent the rest of other indicators: blood, urgency, fever etc the nurse might very well be correct in not worrying about a UTI. I would certainly let the doctor know.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Just finished my third 1/2 dose BCG. Last time, and this time, the nurse paused before administering because my leukocytes were elevated. I told her I had no UTI symptoms- no fever, no blood, etc. They administered the BCG but now I am concerned as to what this might mean. The nurse indicated they were up "a little" but I didn't get an exact reading. Thanks for any insight.
