Paul,

Read through this bladdercancersupport.org/bladder-cancer-forum/5-invasive-bladder-cancer-questions-and-comments/43026-update-to-nccn-guidelines-for-follow-up-after-rc.html#43027 (click the link to download the file) and follow the path for T1 with your grade. Then print it out and take it to your doctor and say "Here is the consensus opinion of the NCCN, why are you suggesting treatment as though I was T0G1 (low grade)?"

Again, something just doesn't seem right. Where is the 2nd opinion doctor?

Paul,

Sorry about your recent diagnosis. T1 is not invasive but it isn't really "superficial" either. It means it has penetrated the innermost layer.

You should read this: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2684254/
It is about the pros and cons of radical cystectomy with T1 Grade 3. If you are already T1, it is likely high grade (G3).

Not even starting BCG until a 3 month cystoscopy just doesn't sound right to me. Where did you go for your second opinion.

Something is not lining up right.

To BCG or not? was created by Paul b
Last week I had a 15mm tumor removed from my bladder, non invasive T1 superficial. My urologist wanted to start BCG in 2 weeks, I want to a different Uro with all my imaging, path reports etc and he thought I shouldn't , he said "wait until your next cysts copy in 90 day" the new Uro has 100's of clients with bladder cancer, and is more well known that my original Uro. So I don't know, should I just sit tight for 90 days until my follow up cystoscopy, or start BCG? I want to do whatever will be in my best interest to rid my body of the cancer, so my feeling is if the BCG can help, why not do it. I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks Paul
