Home at last!

Welcome Home, Anne!

I was so happy to see this post! You so deserve to be home with your family and friends and I am happy to know the drugs you are taking give you that opportunity without all the awful side effects. Please take good care of yourself, Anne, and just know I am thinking of you and praying for many, many wonderful weeks and months ahead.

Well here I am! Home at last - somewhere I doubted I would be give the prognosis 2 weeks ago!
I have been taking an oral chemotherapy drug called Xeloda which aims to prolong life in metastatic breast cancer patients. It seems to suit me as, so far, I have had none of the listed side effects. My blood platelet levels are still very low but are holding their own so we are taking this as a measure of success. Hopefully the consultant will let me continue on the treatment for a while. At least it will give us time to get affairs in order so to speak.
