Hi to all -- I feel good today (ok, its the new good, but the best in abot 2 weeks).
I also have a little time and computer access. So this update may not be so quick and it is certainly not all good.

My liver mets had increased in size and number on my most recent scan. I was
quickly informed I'd begin inpatient chemo that day and I actually declined to see the report until my next visit with the dr. this coming Friday.

You've had the quick reports since then, but I can add this.

I was in the clinic for a neulasta shot on Monday and Dr. M. saw me and came
in to say "you look fabulous." (which I took as somewhat better than might be
expected.)

I'll see him again Friday after bloodwork and there could actually be early
blood indicators and physical indicators of effectiveness.

Here's what I got: Ifex, Gemzar and (I don't know how to spell either of the names of this one to come) Doxarubicin/Adriamycin.

I've eaten two small but hearty meals today and feel as if I could socialize for
an hour or so if the situation presented itself -- well, I guess it did -- I'm here
ain't I????

My best to all -- Susan

Hi and in haste -- got released today, midday. now observaton and monitoring for
about a week before I can go home. So far, my main issue is bloating and waiting for
my fluid balance to adjust. The docotor on call says it might take a few days but to call back if I get short of breath.

Back at our hotel and it is a nice day. We took a walk. My friend is at the store.
She said I can use the computer again.

Trying to prevent mouth sores and minimize blood effects are goals this week.

Of course my family all misses me and I them on Mothers Day. Nice calls, fruit and flowers. I just realized it may be ok to wish anyone Happy Mothers Day. If you're not one, you have one -- Love to all -- Susan

Dear Susan,

I am catching up on all updates as I have been out of the loop for a while visiting family in the UK.

I just want to wish you all the very best with your first treatments and hope and pray that side effects are minimal.

Glad to hear your friend is with you in Houston and you are not alone...

Thinking of you..
