We (my husband, Terry, and I) arrived in Houston Tuesday to visit MD Anderson.
Our visit was with Dr. Millikan who specializes in metastatic cancer (bladder and prostate). Since then, I've had blood tests and scans; tomorrow I see Dr. Millikan
again. The choices appear to be a heavy duty regimen of chemotherapy (to which the
sarcomatoid varient sometimes responds) and a clinical trial (to be discussed, if warranted, tomorrow). I was hoping to defer treatment (though in the back of my mind, I knew we didn't have that luxury) until May when I can retire with lifetime
(Ha!) medical benefits. But he thinks we should get started within 2-3 weeks at most. Just what he'll recommend depends on the tests. My appointment isn't until
late afternoon (4 PM). I post again after that.
Julie and Pat, I wish you and your husbands the best in your present situations.
And you are in my prayers -- Susan
