Hello All,

Thank you all for your replies to my previous post regarding the results of the most recent scans...

We had a consult with Dr. Daniel Fried, a Radiation Oncologist at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. We were given quite a bit of information to digest.

We have decided on an injection of "Quadramet" see:

www.cytogen.com/professional/quadramet/pi.php

It is used for pain management in those suffering from Bone Mets. For the areas that don't respond to this drug, the option for external beam radiation is still available. With this drug the blood must be monitored closely, so we will have a visiting nurse coming weekly to assess and draw blood.

Hopefully the response will be good to this drug, because then we will have the option of using "Zometa" see:

www.us.zometa.com/info/therapy/how_it_works.jsp?irmasrc=ZOMWB0084

this is a drug that promotes healthly bone growth...Neither stop the cancer, but with pain management, and stronger bones...quality of life should be greatly improved. These drugs are not without side effects, and that part does worry me...but we can only trust, and take one day at a time...

Keep us in your Prayers!

Karen
