Bill..dry cough or productive cough?
I've been coughing for 3 yrs...live in sinus territory!!
Good the x-ray was all clear. To ease your mind have another radiologist look at it. I have a different problem as i have an old scar on my lungs and it throws them all into a frenzy every time i have a x-ray or CT scan and i have to remind them that its always been there and hasn't changed. I usually have the same radiologist read all my scans..who was referred to me by my internist who said he was the best in town.

Thanks Pat, I have e-mailed Dr. Mark Schoenberg at Johns Hopkins.

You know, I have also had a cough for 3 1/2 months, with a Chest X-ray 2-weeks ago showing all clear? :silly:

you know the story about the guy thrown overboard and clutching to a piece of driftwood and praying to God to please save him........a boat comes alongside and offers a resue and the man says no thank you the lord will save me....a few hours later another boat comes by and again the man refuses and says the lord will save him.........man eventually drowns gets to heaven and asks the lord...Why didn't you save me?...The Lord looks at him and says...I sent you 2 boats what more did you want?
I may have paraphrased that a bit.
Point is...we're trying to save you. If you have systemic TB you must be treated and NOW and you cannot be treated with anything else while that is happening.
Your job, your life......all hanging on that piece of driftwood.
Make the second doc your primary doc....
Get someone who knows what they are doing.

I promise not to say another word...as i'm catching the boat to Memorial Sloan.

Bill,

Your story is starting to sound like uroligical conspiracy of sorts. I agree with your good old boy network comparison.

You don't have to go for ongoing treatment. Try to go once to get a real treatment plan figured out. Then go closer to home for treatment in accordance with that treatment plan. If John Hopkins says to do mitomycin or something, your local uro can administer it.

You can still send the major center the test results, pathologies, etc.

Folks, you are all I have now, as I seem to be caught up in the "good old boy network"!

I have a lot of praying & thinking to do! The prostate pain is getting worse by the day and I am not sure my Uro wil treat for "TB" even though UVA recommends it!

Lets face it, I can not go to Johns Hopkins for recurring treatment, as it is so far away, and I am employed full-time, and can not afford to miss time from work, in this economy!

I really need your prayers!
