Margot, I am seeing my Specialist doctor next week, I need RC. I can't offer any advice about chemo. I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with Harry and you during this time. Maria xx

Margot, how many rounds of chemo is Harry having? Before my pathology report came back with an involved lymph node, my doctor said he was going to suggest one round, just to be on the safe side.

Margot I had the pre-op chemo which is neoadjuvant chemo because I had the chemo before my RC. Now I think it is a great idea to have the adjuvant chemo which is the chemo after the RC. I've seen some here get a clear ticket just from getting the RC cancer wise but personally I would feel better getting the chemo after the the RC some of these cancer cells are so tiny not even scans or mri's can pick them up. Good Luck, Joe ;)

Just thought I'd bring you up to date on Harry. He started chemo yesterday here locally in Fresno, CA. After his surgery at Stanford, we could have gone back there, but it is a three hour drive and his surgeon said the chemo could be handled here, so we'll save the drive time! The chemo is considered more of a precautionary measure since he had no further signs of cancer outside the bladder, none in the lymph nodes, but it was into the fatty tissue of the bladder, so the surgeon recommened this course of treatment.. He got over the infection that he had a week ago and when we went back to the oncologist yesterday he wanted to start him out right away! He had Gemzar yesterday and half the Cisplatin today and the other half tomorrow. He received an Aloxi (palonosetron Hcl) injection today before the treatment to ward off nausea and also has a RX for Compazine...hopefully, these will help. Right now he is napping - thanks, I guess to the Compazine - the nurse said it would cause him to be drowsy...maybe I should take it to help me sleep!! (kidding!) We will appreciate your prayers through this. If anyone has any suggestions to help get him (us) through this, let us know! Thanks.
Margot
