For those who did not see it when it aired, here is the link to it: www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/08/05/eveningnews/main6747445.shtml

It is Bob Schieffer's story.

Notice that BCAN and ABLCS both have their links posted on the bottom of the CBS news page for this story.

Yes, I thought it was an excellent presentation, given the
30 seconds they had! Anyone know how they happened to decide to do this?

I caught the broadcast this evening--not bad. Featured one of old-time CBS newsmen (Bob Schiefer I think) who had bladder cancer 5 years ago; Schiefer noted his first symptom of blood in the urine, and that he'd been a heavy smoker. The voice-over mentioned that 50% of bladder cancer is associated with smoking. Dr. Bochner from Memorial Sloan Kettering was on too, stressing the importance of early detection. The segment also stressed that people who've had RC can have reconstructions and lead entirely normal lives.

Good publicity!

Small TA Grade 1, May-06; recur (2 tiny), same, June-08; TURBTs both times. BCG begun July-08, dosage to 1/3rd May-10, completed treatment December-11. All clear since 2008.
