Great info, It reinforces my decision to choose a Neobladder even more.
It's the obvious choice for people like me with T1G4.

Jack,

Great article. This should be mandatory reading for every newly diagnosed person with bladder cancer (and their loved ones).

Jack,
Thank you so much for sharing this article. It is the most comprehensive article I have read dealing with Ta/CIS and BCG. You are right when you said to print it out, I have read through the article twice and I am still finding more points I passed over the first read :)

When I read this report, all I could think of was you Pat.
I just hope that the Uros not located at the top cancer and teaching hospitals read this report. Dr Kassouf who wrote this report, is the Chair of our Medical Advisory Board, on the Canadian Bladder Cancer Network. He is a lot like Dr. Lamm. Every time I email him with questions from Canadian patients, I usually have a return email with-in 24 hours.

Great article Jack...this is an absolute must read for anyone just diagnosed......one of the reasons i'm a broken record on second opinions and re-TURBs
Second TURBT
Restaging TUR provides more tissue for pathologic examination and better staging as well as insight into the biology of the disease.41,45 Herr reported 75% of patients who underwent repeat TURBT in 2 to 6 weeks after initial resection had residual tumour.
By the way Herr is who did my re-TURB and got my residual tumor and margins and basically saved my life.

The is a lengthy report. If you are non-invasive I recommend you print the report for reading.
Speaks of current protocols, current challenges, and new things on the horizon regarding non-invasive treatments..
