Good article, Cynthia. There are also filters that filter out micro organisms by the size of the space in the filter. This was a big issue in Milwaukee when they had the cryptosporidium outbreak in the water. Also a filter to get rid of the byproducts of chlorination is best for bladder cancer patients as those have been implicated as a cause of bladder cancer. I did some research on filters and have a 3 stage set up with carbon filters, fiber filters, and reverse osmosis. Decided not to add the UV treatment. i use the water for cooking and drinking as everything is under the sink. It would have been better to put the filters inline before the showers/bathtub. Julie
