Welcome to the forum. I had the same dx in July 2022. My tumor was removed at that time. I had a second occurrence at my 6 month follow up. This tumor was smaller, so much that I decided to have it removed in my urologist’s office with the use of a bladder treatment to numb my bladder. My Urologist has me following up every 6 mo.

I agree, I find this site very helpful and supportive. Best of luck to you during this journey.  Helena

Welcome Brandbr,

Post away as you go. The good news is you are DX with low grade! From everything I have read in your post your URO is following normal protocol. (90 day checks are standard, usually for a couple of years then every 6 months graduating to annual.

Non invasive means this was caught fairly early and not into the muscle. Browse around this website such as stages etc.

As many have said here, if you ever have any serious doubts a second opinion is always good. It doesn't mean your doc goofed up anything. It is often "fresh eyes" that often corroborates the situation.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

After experiencing blood in urine, and seeing a Urologist, I had two tumors removed two weeks ago. At post-op follow-up I was told that both samples came back as cancerous.  Here in Florida, and possibly everywhere, specialists seem short on time.  My urologist schedules appointment in 10 minute slots, so it's difficult to come away with little more than the basics.  I am very thankful to have found your website.  I believe that it will be a great resource for building my knowledge base.

Urologist said only that samples were "low grade", and that future observation of the condition would be handled with a cystoscopy every 90 days.  Pathologist report says "urothelial carcinoma/Non-Invasive Stage Ta"  Not entirely sure what this all means, but I intend to keep learning from your members, and follow the advise of the Urologist.  Down-the-road, if the cancer comes back I think I may face a decision.....continue with the Urologist or seek other treatment options with a Urologist/Oncologist at a Tampa Cancer Center.  Thanks for being there.
