BCG, bladder cancer and dental procedures

My dentist on always wants an update on medical conditions. BCG has never been an issue.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

When I spent almost two years getting BCG off and on I just went about life as normal.

someone mentioned to me that if you are undergoing Chemotherapy or have cancer you are supposed to let your dentist know as they should prescribe and antibiotic prior to procedures. I was confused because BCG is not chemotherapy. They mentioned that when your teeth are getting cleaned bacteria go to your stomach and this could be problematic. My guess i they were not referring to immunotherapy, only chemo. Has anyone heard about this?

8/20 tumor found, 2 TURB with stent, tumor resected from bladder, another portion lasered from ureter, Toa,papillary urothelial carcinoma, non-invasive, high grade, BCG began Oct 22,2020
