Hey.
Thanks for your reply.
I went and had the procedure done today. In general anaesthesia.
They used the hard scope to do it, as far as I understand it. I guess so they could remove tumors if they found any.
Anyway. They didn't find anything. So that's nice
They were able to pass the stricture, and because I was relaxed, they didn't have to cut it, to get through. That was also nice.
It does however bleed and hurt like hell when I have to pee. They said it would be normal. I guess I'll give it a few days.
Furthermore, they said I would have to insert a catheter 2 times a week for three months, and then 1 time a week for three months, to expand the stricture.
I have to insert it myself at home, and it just have to go past the stricture, and then out again. So it's really fast.
I'm not sure i'm going to do it. I'm pretty sure I've had that stricture always, without issues. Plus there is a real risk of getting infections, especially when I have to do it so many times, and at home. My house is not sterile like a hospital.
I've talked with my dad, who is also a doctor (not an urologist though), but he thought it was unnecessary to do it, especially with the risk of infection.
