I meant to say filtering through it for all of the past years, it would be a brand new bladder.

2nd surgery on 6-27-09 for ureter leak
Renal failure on 7-01-09 nephy tube and then stent on 7-09-09
so far so good

The new bladder would not be subject to all of the bad stuff filtering through it though. I think it is a great idea. Wish they had it when I had my surgery.

I would think if you grow a new bladder from your own stem cells then the new bladder would be just as prone to bladder cancer as the old one was. Even though it may not be a magic bullet it may still be better than options available today.

Yes... A ways to go. In the show, the lady's bladder did not function properly but was not cancerous. Glad they are working in that direction.

If I remember right, I read something about that in Dr. Agus book "The End Of Illness". I will go back and look.
