Be on the lookout for scam emails!!!

It takes a lot of our time and money everyday to keep this site free of spammers and hackers that would use our bandwidth. But the truth is if they can get into the pentagon they can go anywhere they really want to. The saving grace with a site like ours is the pay off isn't worth the barriers they come up against here and they go some where easier to get into.

The bottom line is that we have to be responsible for our own safety on the net. I have one card I use on the net with a very low limit and never leave it on a website as part of my profile.

I think privacy is an illusion today. I just got another email from Chase with the same info.

This is a bit ridiculous. My notification (and it was in the newspaper also) came from the Kroger company. You know how you have to have a card to shop at practically any store now? Well, they can't keep your information private. And my notice also said it was "only" email addresses.

I got an email from Home Shopping Network (HSN.com) yesterday that a "limited" amount of my info had been compromised via their email provider Epsilon, but only email address and name. It included a warning about future scam/span emails.

Will be interesting now what shows up in my email box!

This didn't seem to fit on the articles of interest so I put it in our catch all here. Over the weekend an email company that handles a lot of major company's and banks had it data base compromised. I have received emails from Chase and Best Buy so far telling me to watch out for scam emails and thought I would post this article about it here.
