I just read that Tony Hillerman has passed away. He was the author of wonderful mysteries featuring Navajo characters and settings. I mention this because I just found out in the death notice that he was a bladder cancer survivor. His cause of death was respiratory failure. It sounds as though he remained active and writing in spite of several infirmities.
