how did you get involved with the magazine? Did you have an interest in boats? If you went to the web page about the older woman I took care of you see a pic of her the last time she and I sailed. Her son and Chris actually did the sailing... Mitzi and I were just along for the ride. elaine

None--I just wrote and edited and it was printed far away at a big printing company. I never came in contact with actual physical printing press.

The whole thing is a coincidence, but it is worthy of a House or CSI episode. We didn't socialize, eat or drink together, and our offices weren't connected. And we shared the building with another magazine, and all their employees are still alive and kicking.

Makes you ponder....what kind of dyes were in the ink you used to publish?
I've had my own cluster of friends none of us in the same environment..but first i got the BLC and then 6 months later one of my best friends came down with breast cancer...and 3 months later another best of friends colon cancer...plus prior to that my son had testicular cancer...my ex-husband got prostate cancer! So far we're all survivors...I'm knocking on wood as i say this.........Pat

Twenty years ago I was editor of a magazine and worked with two other guys.

Out of the three of us, both of the other two are dead of cancer--one from liver cancer at 47, the other from prostate cancer at 55.

And I'm the only one left. With cancer.

What are the odds?
