Sometimes it can be slightly enlarged on the outside but constricting on the inside the more constricted it is on the urethra, the tougher it is to get a scope through there. Kick his butt with some Valium and he should be fine next time. I hope. :).

I had a LOT of constriction and once bounced off the ceiling. When I took 10mg of Valium and had the numbing gel, it was WAY easier.

If it was terrible, terrible pain then he may have enlarged prostate. He should ask his urologist about that. There are meds to reduce the prostate size and symptoms if needed.

That being said, and again depending on just how much pain he had, he can ask for Valium and a few pain pills. He should only take the pain pills if needed. Could be that Aleve or Tylenol will do the trick but it should be discussed with the doc. Never take meds (especially something that thins the blood) without the doc knowing.

I'm assuming that you are driving him. Driving on Valium or pain pills is not advisable. It counts the same as drunk driving....

Congrats on the all clear!

The pain should subside after a couple of hours. Then he should only feel a little bit of a twinge as he urinates.

A warm wash cloth against the penis helps with the burning feeling.

If he still is feeling pain at this time you should call and check with your urologist.
