I don't remember whether you have had BCG or not. After a number of BCG treatments, my cysto showed "red" spots that my uro was pretty sure were irritation from the BCG. We agreed that he would do a "little bit of a biopsy" in the office...if he couldn't do it we would then go to a full TURB. He was able to get enough tissue with a sort of scraping to tell that, indeed, it was irritation and we avoided the general anesthesia, day in the hospital, etc... It was not uncomfortable. Just like the dentist says, "a little pinch."

I would emphasize that we were just confirming what he was already 99% sure of. A lot of uro's might not have done anything. If there were any question at all, this would not be the right procedure.

He siad it was nothing to be concerned about but i will double check with him. Are you saying that i could have lots of pain? The doctor has been great so far, and has not taken any chances whatsoever. If it hurts that bad, let me know and I will give the doc a call and tell him I want this to be done in the hospital.

So far everything they have scraped off since the very first and second trips have come back as not even being precancerous. I value your opinion greatly so please let me know! :(

So he doesn't think that it might be CIS? If the spots are from previous biopsies that is one thing but if they are new then they should certainly be checked out.

Any time I had anything removed it was in the hospital and I was out. Once they tried getting a sample while I was in his office on the table and I think the dent in his ceiling is still labelled the Mike's nose imprint from where I levitated off the table at the speed of light.

Hope it's nothing but as you say, it is good to be vigilant.

Had my Cysto today. It showed 3 reddish spots that the doc said he can scope out in the office. I don't know how usual this is, but at least he does not seem concerned and feels it is just precautionary to do. I go back in 90 days for the procedure which is sort of a cysto+ I guess.

I suppose I am staying on top of all of this and with the docs help it is not getting worse to any degree whatsoever.
