Thanks Mike, good advice.
I may even have some sake with it. Now, where did I put my chop sticks?

Bill,
I am still sitting down so I can measure the output. Aiming would probably be hit or miss, mostly miss.

The mucus thing was more of an observation than a complaint. I can feel it pass but cannot feel the urine when it leaks. I can live with the mucus but it soils my Depends. Fortunately, I have the Costco-sized box.

I do feel better after walking. This morning I made it all the way to the donut shop. Close to a half mile round trip. Tomorrow, I'm aiming for the bagel shop, two blocks further away.

I'm thinking about the sushi restaurant tonight but am not sure if my stomach is ready for the spicy tuna. Maybe the shrimp tempura is a better choice. Actually, I think I'm craving their miso soup.

Life is good!

Flyer,
The mucus should get better, really! Your tummy is still healing and so is the bladder. The bladder is still not sure what is going on and what it should be doing. To speed things up, pull one thing out of your diet each week. If its right after eating, try each thing on its own to see. And plenty of liquids during the day to keep it flowing.

I thought it was never going to stop. In a weeks time it change to very little and if there was some, it was the egg drop variety.

Hows the urinal usage going, that first week or two after the cath kinda changes the aim.

Flyer,

Sounds like everything is progressing normally, if not actually a little bit ahead of schedule! :)

That's certainly great news! You should start noticing steady improvement.

With the mucous thing, that seems to vary for folks. Some here report they hardly have any. I'm three years out and still seem to have a lot. Sometimes, my urine is like maple syrup and it sinks to the bottom of the toilet water. Sometimes it is just in the beginning (that settling thing you mentioned) and then it is more like normal urine after the thick stuff drains.

Very infrequently, I get some of that egg drop soup looking stuff that seems to be more of what most folks on the site here report.

Keep up the training. Looks like you are doing the right thing. Keep up that walking and you will be surprised at how soon you start feeling better. Takes months to feel back to 100% but depending on your job, you may be just fine for that in a few weeks. As long as you aren't a marathon runner or professional athlete that is. :)
