Great story. I remember at one point I too was on the heavy duty pain killers. I was sure I was in a situation where I was in a bed I wasn't suppose to be in! Police were coming. I had to run. I ran right out of bed and kurpluck right on my face. My wife heard the sound ran out and there I was on the floor laughing, blood streaming down my face from where it had hit the night stand on the way down. It took a while for me to explain the situation, and I'm sure she never understood the humor in it! We gotta keep our sense of humor!!!

Best wishes,

Gordon

OK here goes......It was the first night after surgery....morphine pump not working only I don't know that...searing pain....i keep thinking tomorrow will be better..i can do this......My poor husband never left my side and was soooo tired he actually laid down on the floor next to my bed to try to sleep..I made him go back to the hotel. This was at 2:00 in the A.M....about 30minutes later in my darkened room i hear a voice..."Patricia"....i actually had drifted off for a few slight moments..then again "Patricia"...i open my eyes to a dark figure, female, in uniform with a gun......OH CRAP the nurses are getting back at me!...She informs me that she gave my poor husband a ride back to the Hotel and he told her everything and how worried he was and how bad i was feeling and she apparently asked him if it would be ok for her to pray for me. OK>........She informs me she's there to perform a healing....then she asks me if I take Jesus Christ as your saviour....HUH?...she repeats in a much louder tone DO YOU TAKE JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOUR(notice the Caps?)...Well who am i to argue with a Gun?....SURE ..Yep...Whoever you want... as i'm frantically searching for the nurses button which they deceptively hide in a place that you cannot reach as your muscles do not work to twist and turn to find it......Next she performing a hands over my body healing and chanting something?? Where are those nurses...why isn't my machine dinging now?........She finally finished and i thanked her and was eternally grateful that she didn't shoot me. Noone but my husband believed me as he thought she was just being thoughtful and was going to say a prayer not an exorcism.
Anyway maybe it worked...i'm still here!!:S

Pat,
I know I had some illusions after my surgery-security guard with a gun healing you. LOL Sounds like a really great story. You have my interest.

My mom was a nurse...back in the day when they had to change bed pans and clean bathrooms and do all the stuff they now have aides to do. I had some good nurses but i also had some bad ones..maybe not their fault as the ratio to patients wasn't what it should have been. Plus i had laproscopic surgery which doesn't look quite as bad as traditional open surgery ..ergo...i must not be in much pain!! WRONG......! One nurse actually told me i had to get a grip on my pain.....HUH? It was my job..noone told me that ahead of time.
Wish i had thought about putting the nurses call button by the dinging machine!....another thread......How to get the Nurses Attention? Its those little things that count:laugh:
But i'll bet none of you got a hands on healing by a night time security guard with a gun? Thats a really good story.........:S Pat
