Had some low counts on blood since the last scans three months ago so she had a bone biopsy. All came out negative and her counts have improved slightly.

Just got news today that the latest scans came in stable again.

She remains on Keytruda and has been on it 20 months since her cancer returned as Stage 4 in November 0f 2020.  She had her RC January of 2020.

Her main side effect is still soreness/fatigue.

She still gets around fine and is self sufficient.  Next big milestone will be July 4th as her family is coming to visit.

Every day is a great day.  We will continue on this road as long as we can.

    Thanks,

    James

    Scan stable again.

She remains on Keytruda.  She has been on it 17 months since her cancer returned as Stage 4
and over two years since her radical cystectomy.  Her main side effect is still fatigue.

She still gets around fine and is self sufficient.  She was able to go on her trip to New York.  Next week Easter with family in La.  Next big milestone will be July for a trip home to see family.

Every day is a great day.  We will continue on this road as long as we can.

    Thanks,

    James

I appreciate the first-hand reports of positive effects of treatment. “Stable” is the brass ring many of us hope to grab. “Self Sufficient” is a bonus.

Best to your wife, and to you.

She still gets around fine and is self sufficient.  She is looking forward to the holidays and a trip in March to New York.

Had a small development last week.  She has had a bad cough and then trouble breathing.  She also was vomiting some and had a temperature of 100.2.  Spent three days in the hospital last week with pneumonia, but is doing very well now.

Now for the update.  She had her three month CT (head to pelvis) as well as an entire body bone scan yesterday.  The news is that the spot on her lung (believed to be inflammation) is shrinking.  No new lesions were seen on the CT or bone scans.

She will remain on Keytruda.  Her next infusion is in three weeks.  She will also see a pulmonologist to make sure that the situation last week was pneumonia and not pneumonitis.

As far as her symptoms are concerned, she is very sore and fatigued, but is still completely self sufficient.  Will keep on this path as long as we can. BTW, 94 visits to the doctor and/or hospital now.

Hopefully no reason to update until the next scans in three months.

Forgot to update three weeks ago.

My wife is still on Keytruda every 6 weeks.   Three weeks ago scans showed cancer was stable for the most part.  A lesion in pelvis and a lung increased in size, but they do not know whether it is the cancer or inflammation from immunotherapy.  She is scheduled to go for more scans in 6 weeks.  This time it will includ a bone scan along with the normal neck to pelvis CT scans.

As far as her symptoms are concerned, she is very sore and fatigued, but is still completely self sufficient.  Will keep on this path as long as we can.

    Thanks,

    James

    James,

Thanks again for your reports! You will never know who and how many people you are helping but, it is a certainty. Glad the Keytruda appears to be working.

    Latest update.

My wife completed three treatments of Keytruda (each three weeks apart).  She met with her oncologist today to review the CT scan she had yesterday (her 12 month scan).  The cancer in her bones appears to have stabilized and no new lesions have been found.  Thus for now the plan is to stay on Keytruda as long as it continues to work.  The Keytruda guidelines now allow a double dose of the infusion administered every six weeks, instead of a single dose every three weeks.  Fewer trips to the hospital will be very nice as we just completed our 66th trip today.

I should also mention that her pain has decreased significantly over the past month.  She still feels fatigue as well as an overall soreness, but it is very manageable with Tramadol.

Okay that should do it for now.  Hopefully will have nothing to report until the next scan in another three weeks.

    Thanks,

    James
