My dad has been disgnosed with T2bG3 bladder cancer, flat lesion in the baldder of less then 3 cms.

He underwent radical cystectomy with neo bladder recently, couple of weeks ago. The biopsy confirmed the grading and stage. What are the chances of recurrence?

Is there something we should watch for going forward. Does he need a chemo?

    Thanks,
    CM

The histopath report said it had invaded the detrusor muscle.

How deep ios that? Is that deep muscle?

    Hi,

Your father’s cancer was caught early, T2 is considered invasive but not really…there is every reason to expect that he will die in his sleep of old age.

Chemo is most often recommended if lymph nodes were found to be involved. Sometimes it’s recommended for stage III tumors. Most people who have a stage II diagnosis do not receive chemo.

The first two years are the key, if he gets through that without a recurrence he will most likely not have one.

All the best to you and your father.
    Wendy
