My gynocologist does not know why I’m having pelvic pain, constipation and urine blockage.
Endometriosis can cause this, but no way to know without “going in”…

He says if he does hysterctomy, we will need to consult with urologist, because he would have to peel organs off of the bladder and if the bladder is already weak, it may cause some bad problems.

[smiley=shocked.gif] Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this?

    Rocky,

I had a serous adenoma (benign tumor) removed from my left ovary many years ago.
Since then, I have had pain in on the left side of my rectum and running down my left leg. The Gyno did a laparoscopy some years back and said that my ovary was stuck to my rectum by adhesions. That’s an interesting feeling.

When I was Dx’d with Bladder Cancer, my family and I felt sure that the bladder tumor must have been situated on the left side, the side with all the achiness, tightness and pain. I was shocked when the Uro told us it was on the right side of the bladder.

I was also told that if hysterectomy is ever a decision, then the Gyno would be attended by the Urologist in order to peel the reproductive organs from the bladder. I bet it’s a mess in there. It makes me wonder if the Bladder Cancer is somehow related to all of that….

It’s nice to have someone who relates to these issues. Thank you for posting your experiences.

    Best regards,
    Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, I had a complete hysterectomy because I had an overy rupture that bled for a couple of months, ( Dr said there was nothing wrong duh ) also the ultra sound showed no fibroid tumors but when they cut the uterus open they found them. I also had endometritis in my abdomen. Now on one of my cystos a young Dr. saw a bump growing on my bladder, scared me to death ! Then Dr Schoenberg check me and said it was from my hysterectomy ,something about the uterus and bladder being peeled apart . Boy was I glad he knew his stuff. Now for the weird part, I noticed I would get a backache and cramps once in awhile and when I started checking the dates it was the same time I used to have my periods ! Go figure . We are fearfully and wonderfully made !! I hope you feel better Rocky

    Warren,

Thank you for thinking of me. I took a look at the link. It’s odd that this issue had been bumped up for me. A new poster here recently told about her issue of bladder cancer (as spoken by her Doctor) as possibly being connected with her endometrisosis (because of constant irritation and inflammation.)

This has worried me a little. I can live with the pain, I’ve been living with it for years. It’s the WORRY that is hard to live with.

I’ve been thinking about a trip to the gyno and talking about a hysterectomy. Even though I don’t have cycles, I am still having a cyclical bloating in my breasts, and pain in the back, much like labor pain.

I just sometimes wonder what my issues really are and if they can be fixed.

Thanks for thinking of me. And, thanks for all the support and compassion and knowledge that you give to all of us here..

    Your friend,
    Rosemary

As I mentioned in another post I had endomentriosis w/ total hysterectomey in 2000 then this past year and few months when the frequent blood in urine and similiar pain started I went back to gyn, and he referred me to a uro. I had alot of Laps therefor lots of adhesions…I had been told in the past that the endo had attached to my colon…so I have had pain for many years I have continous full feeling and dull pain, with the short stabbing pain every now and then. Does this sound typical? It is so weird because it is alot like the endo pain.. My Uro told me I had Bladder cancer and I am scheduled for the TURBT w/ mitromycin on Thursday. I often wonder if there is some connection w/ endo and bc. Any thoughts?

    Sherri,

The way you say they “think” you might have bladder cancer gives me the idea that a Dx has not been determined yet.

Have you had a cystoscopy or are you scheduled for a cystoscopy soon?

Can you give us some more information?

    Your new friend,
    Rosemary

On Oct 1st I have emergency surgery that put me into surgical menopause ( I had complete hyster Oct 1st the medical term of my surgery is TAH BSO) and now 3 months later, they think I might have bladder cancer.Any chance its all connected in some way? I have the same pain I do now in my bladder that I had before SX, doctor though maybe the pain & blood in my urine was coming from the mass on my R ovary and in my R tube because have my painful stream of urine, my R kidney hurts too.

I had a emergency TAH BSO on OCT 1 and now I am in sudden surgical menopause.I am now being testing for bladder cancer and will have results in 2 wks ( about the end of Jan)

    Dear Rosemary,
    I’m sorry I couldn’t help.
By “Indian doctor” I meant a medical doctor born and bred in India but Jewish.Tiny Israel is a melting pot of cultures,we respect them all but some more and some less. At that time, almost thirty years ago, serious doctors were contemptuous of alternative medicine.I wonder if they are better today.
I wish you the best of luck.I am trying to forget of my loss,my husband’s loss, and think of other people’s suffering ,I’d like to see all suffering gone out of this world.

    Hey Beth,

Thanks for the reply. I had to look up a definition for “Myoma” and was glad to see that it was benign.  Back in September, when I made this post, the Gynocolgist was leaving the decision for hysterectomy up to me.   I just let it go and am living with the pelvic pain.   After all, it hasn’t gotten worse.  When I was about 35, I had a benign tumor removed from my ovary.  Now, for many years, my ovary has been stuck to my rectum because of adhesions. :o   (Bowel movements can be uncomfortable)

When you say “Indian Doctor” do you mean Ayurvedic (East India) or Native American?

    Your friend,
    Rosemary

    Dear Rosemary,
I can tell you about hysterectomy.I was forty at the time when my gynecologist said I had a myoma which had to be taken out.We set the date for the surgery.Meanwhile someone directed me to an Indian doctor who was a specialst in homeopathy, giving small doses with the same effect as the big ones,he said.I didn’t take him seriously,I took the drops he prescribed but was prsent at the hospital on the set date and had the hysterectomy.I was out within a few days, swimming in the pool a couple of days later.Strange though, the surgeon told me the X-rays had shown a much larger tumour than what he found.
That was almost 28 years ago.I’ve forgotten about it.
Listen to other people’s advice and do what you think best.
    Beth
