Concerns
I am 58 year old female. Have a relatively small capillary tumor on left side of bladder. Going for TURBT outpatient surgery as soon as the call me back for appt. Scared putting it mildly.

Dear Sunshine,
I had several TURB procedures done going back about 5 years now. My urologist was very good at his job and the procedure was not terribly traumatic. Hopefully all will be well with your procedure too.

Thank you so much for responding. Yes, it is a papillary on the left trigone. Recommending TURBT with mitomycin. And yes I am anxious, but trusting God. I see no symptoms anywhere, feel no pain anywhere. Praying it was caught early stages. Thanks again and I hope to have this outpatient surgery on Monday, Feb. 17th

You will find a lot of people here who have been where you are now. AND they are doing fine!
By the way, I think what your urologist thinks you have is most likely a papillary tumor…one that sticks up out of the bladder lining like a little mushroom. During the TURB the doctor will remove it and any other suspicious areas and send it to the pathologist for analysis. While your doctor may have a good idea of what your diagnosis is following the TURB he will not know for sure until the path report is in hand.It is very possible that you have a low grade tumor that will not require any additional treatment except for careful monitoring. Should the diagnosis be different….for example high grade…there are very effective treatments.
Right now I imagine that you are very anxious, but the odds are definitely in your favor!
