Hi Wayne,

I'm sorry your message was lost! But your other messages are here and I hear your frustration and confusion. I come from a family decimated by cancer (our genes, our water, food, etc.?) Huge toll on our family, many dead or still dealing, diagnosed very young.

I really believe that healthy diet prevents cancer but personally am not convinced that huge changes will cure it. There is no science to back this up yet, either.

When I asked my doctor why he wasn't telling me to lose weight (like my sister was admonished, when she was fighting breast cancer too), he said, "Just be happy". Ah...now that is the tricky part.

I think it was the wisest advice I've received, yet most difficult to achieve.

I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery.

Wayne, please pay attention to this. I think you're going to find that everyone here, whether they are cancer patients or family members, are in agreement about your situation.

As is your own doctor.

Wayne,

The ultimate goal here is to get rid of the cancer...Whether it be chemo, surgery, radiation whatever....there is no natural cure right now. But there are some things that look promising to stop the progression or to keep yourself clear AFTER SURGERY, or to avoid cancer all together IF YOU DIDN"T ALREADY HAVE IT. Once it is there, you have to do everything to get it out. In most peoples cases that means surgery with this cancer, it seems to be something that can't be avoided in alot of cases (at this time anyway). If your Dr.'s keep repeating that the only way to cure your cancer is through surgery, and you are hearing this with your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd opinions, that is just the way it is. I am talking more about future cures, or last ditch efforts maybe...but if surgery is an option...you are curing your cancer........that is the ultimate goal....it isn't possible for everyone.....and the longer you wait, the options get fewer and fewer, and bleaker, and bleaker...you are being handed your chance at a cure....don't miss it...

Wishing you the Best,
Karen

Wayne, there may well be, and I hope there is.

What I truly believe is that right now, at this moment in time, you're not in an ideal situation to start searching for one. You just aren't in that position of luxury. As the clock ticks, in my opinion, you are best served by conventional methods. For me, and perhaps for you, that is surgery.

Just my opinion.

I asked my doctor in May of 2006 what would happen if I didn't have surgery. He told me that, in his opinion, I would be dead in two years. Two years is eight months from now. If I'd waited hoping for a juice or herbal breakthrough, my cancer would have spread even more.

If you absolutely see something on the horizon that you truly believe is your salvation, then no on is going to be able to change your mind. But if you're desperately hoping for this to avoid surgery, then my words are just pixels on the screen.

I AM NOT tring to keep an old thread going with this post. What really bugs me is that this topic can't be discussed in a civilized manner the way others are. I spent a hour typing only to find the thread locked and i could not post. So here it is in hopes that things turn out different. October 18 2007 I am heading out the door for about a 5.5 hour drive for pre-op tomorrow. I just have to make a comment on this post before i leave. First i would like to say that i really beleive that our bodies have the ability to prevent and/or cure cancer. I also think that it COULD BE what we put in it that breaks our bodies down and allows cancer to grow.(Why do babies get it?) I don't know!!. What i do know for sure is we still have the same old treatments for the last 50 years which are chemo, radiation, and surgery. I beleive there is something(natural) out there that can stop this stuff.Chemo + Surgery,Chemo + Rad,Etc. What about carrot juice + Whatever?? How will we ever know if we don't experiment. I work for one of the biggest drug companies in the world and all the sales reps they send to doctors offices are beautiful model type people (wonder why??) MONEY is why. I beleive that the reason natural remedies are not investigated more is because of money. If someone ever does discover that something simple and natural prevents or stops cancer from growing there will be a lot of stocks drop. Leaving here today i still wonder if i am doing the right thing?? I think what if?? I would like to write more but guess i should get off here. Sure glad the wife doesn't have a cattle prod. Sorry Zach guess i read to much.LOL
