Mike,

I appreciate your reply and correction. I'll get better with the acronyms over time. Thanks for the laugh as well.

Have a good weekend.

Wade,

I suppose none of us would have volunteered to get bladder cancer just for the priviledge of joining this group. :) But since we did get it, it has been nice to have this group.

Have a look at this link from BLC WebCafe. It has a very good page on BCG and the blood and clots are a side effect. It's one that tells you it is working. There are links from that page as well that are worth checking out. If that's the only side effects you are having so far, that it good news.

Web Cafe BCG link

This link is also helpful. It's Dr. Lamm's website

I know what you meant and at first thought it was just a typo but when I saw it the second time, I thought it might be worth mentioning that you mean TURB or TURBT. TransUrethral Resection of Bladder Tumor. A TURP is TransUrethral resection of the Prostate. I know since I've had both. :)

Good luck with the BCG treatments and I'm glad you found our site.

I'm not exactly thrilled to be a member here but I am in great company. Being a new member, I should introduce myself: Wade, age 42 and despite bladder cancer I'm in excellent heath.

My BC was diagnosed April, 2009. I had TURP performed the following week and the results were non-invasive, low grade. May 2010 additional tumors were located, great! TURP procedure and again, non-invasive, low grade.

I started BCG several weeks later and my urine test prior to the fourth instillation indicated blood. I went ahead with the fourth instillation on July 12th. Today I detected visible blood in my urine (weak color) and passed some particulates, Clots?

Is this to be expected? BCG instillations have been going well with no ill side effect, until today.

Looking for some answers from the BTDT crowd.

I appreciate your time,

Wade
