Does Doug have any other symptoms - frequentcy - pressure any thing that should have cleared up since the last BCG? I did not have the fever, but I did have other symptoms. BCG Cystitis does not always return a "positive" urine culture. Mine did not show a positive reading, but I sure have BCG Cystitis and because it was not pick-up, and my Uro wouldn't listen to me, I was delayed 3 1/2 weeks of treating the cystitis.
And as Patricia said, any fever this long can certainly be a problem stemming from the BCG.
Good Luck

Doug has been in contact with his uro and will be seeing him again on Monday. He has had a chest x-ray and two cultured urinalysis done. Temp 99.7 tonight....we were hoping to go to an ice cream social dance.

To corroborate what Patricia said, my uro wanted me to alert him to any fever at 101 and above. Persistent should also put up a warning for potential TB infection. It's Friday but, I call them!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

If a patient develops persistent fever or experiences an acute febrile illness consistent with BCG infection, BCG instillations should be permanently discontinued, the patient immediately evaluated and treated for BCG infection and an infectious disease consultation sought.
Please consult with you uro Doug..this doesn't sound right.

I am not an expert on BCG by any means, but a fever for three weeks just doesn't sound right. Does his doctor know? I have only had a brief fever for a few hours, and have not read anything about carrying a fever for three weeks because of BCG. Doug, you must be worn out.
