Sara Anne,

Warren was posting at the same time as me. We are pretty much saying the same thing, but I thought I would go ahead with my post too.

Hi Warren!!!!!
========================
Sara Anne,

Have you talked with your Doctor about your feelings of malaise and unwellness?? What you are describing does not sound to me to be conditions associated with Bladder Cancer. At least, not in my experience.

As far as your question about papillary tumors being a precursor to CIS, I'm pretty sure that papillary does not PROGRESS to CIS. CIS just SOMETIMES coincides with papillary tumors. CIS is either present or it isn't present. That is my understanding....

It must have been distressing to hear about the CIS after your original Dx of papillary tumor.

Please take care of yourself. Are you taking a good multivitamin and trying to get some excercise? How are you sleeping??

Best regards,
Rosemary

Bladder cancer is often asymptomatic which is why it isn't always diagnosed in the early stages. It should not make you lose weight and feel sick unless it is metastatic to other organs. Of course, stress and anxiety could make you lose your appetite and lose weight, and so could an illness unrelated to the cancer.I don't know if one is a precursor to the other. Don't think so. But they do occur together. When my new urologist reviewd my history he said he wasn't surprised I had CIS since my papillary was Grade 3.

It is great to have all of you to ask questions....
You may remember that I was diagnosed with papillary in late January and then "upgraded" to CIS three weeks later. First queston: I feel terrible...lost 15 lb, no appetite, fatigued, just feel awful. This started about a month before the diagnoses. Can the BC cause this? Not SICK, just feel terrible all the time.
Second...is papillary a precurser to CIS or do they happen simultaneously?
