Dan, I'm glad to hear of another Taxotere case. My husband just had his second infusion last Tuesday, and has been in that "limp rag" stage since Friday morning. The first treatment didn't hit him quite as fast, I don't think, but his amount was a little less. As the doc explained, the first time they calculated dosage on "ideal weight". This time, they used "actual weight.":P

Anyway, I'm hoping he'll come around by Sunday night. The last treatment took about that long to work through. Any other symptoms?

Harry got an infection in early June that lingered even after a course of antibiotics. The original sign was a fever (102 I think) which I then I forced Harry to go to the urgent care at our primary dr. It took a few doses of antibiotic to bring the fever down, in fact at one point it went up to 104! At that point, I gave him a combo of alternating Tylenol and Advil, which, with cool compresses brought it down. After the second antibiotic the uro did a CT scan with no apparent problems then a scope of the neo and found the infection still there. Poor Harry got two shots that day - one in each cheek and an Rx of Levaquin. He's now better, although a urine test revealed some abnormal cells, although not malignant, per the surgeon...so now we'll be up at Stanford the first part of Sept. for the surgeon to scope the ureter and into the kidney...I guess it was fortunate that the infection alerted the dr. to the abnormal cells...so we'll just have to wait to see what is next...as we remember God is in control. Things looked good last week when my CT scan showed no new nodes and the existing ones had not increased in size. Played golf a couple of time in days 2 - 5 of what is cycle 6 of Taxotere (docetaxel). Well then the "limp rag" feeling returned for the first time on Taxotere, along with a persistent low grqade fever. (99.1 - 100.5). If I don't take 1000 mg of Tylenol at least every 10 hours the fever pushes up. UA and blood work were "normal" but all the docs agreed to start a course of levaquin. Still hoping I'll be strong enough to visit my granddaughter next week, but just one more thing to deal with. Still, my wife, saint that she is, reminds me how far we've come since the initial diagnosis, Christmas week 2006. Has anyone had the low grade fever issue and if so how was it managed? The docs say don't worry until it hits 101. In the mean time I'll settle for watching golf on TV instead of playing and living with the fact that we can't be in control of everything eventhough until this insidious disease arrived on my door step I belived I could.

Dan
