No scans

It would be nice wouldn't it to have a scan and see where you are on things, she maybe could say she might change her mind after she see's the results, I agree though, it would at least let you know where you stand, ask again, can't hurt, or better yet, say you want them done, don't take no for an answer,,,Ginger

Thanks Ginger. I do have pictures but am not sure how to put them on here?!?!? I spoke to my sister who was along for the appt. She said that the doctor asked how she was feeling etc. and if she had changed her mind about chemo. Mama said no and she said at that point the doc sorta became indifferent (her opinion of course)She said it was like...oh well then why bother. I'm sure that isn't how he meant it. He said he saw "no justification for scans." I see his point and in some ways agree. I just think if Mama wanted scans, she should get scans. Agree? Anyway, I also spoke to Mama and told her that if she was fine with it ok, but if SHE wanted scans to call back and tell them. She didn't really have much to say. She has lost 9 pounds but she has put herself on a strictly fruit and vegetable diet (not sure why), so I guess that can explain the 9 pounds. She told him about the memory problems and he said "it could be dementia." I don't know what to think. It just seems maybe that people think if you don't do chemo you have given up so maybe they give up on you. I think I'm rambling now, so I'll wait for your wise replies!

Apparently the doctor did not feel it necessary to do any more scans. I understand to a point, but at the same time wonder. I didn't get all the info yet. Will update exactly what he said later.
