My Dad had VRE after one of his surgeries and it was certainly no fun and not easy to get rid of. He was in his early 80s when he got it. He is now 85! He also gave himself the meds at home via a Picc line. Hang in there!
just spent 9 more days in the hospital with an infection -- VRE, as it turned out. after surgery i spent 7 days. this last one really sucked but i'm doing home infusion of antibiotics thru a picc line and will be done soon. sheesh.
