Hello All!
Just to update those who are interested. I have seen my Oncologist again and he has changed his mind about which chemotherapy regime to give me. I should be starting a 6 cycle regime of Taxotere and Carboplatin next week. This is because I had a triple negative tumour and he feels that it will offer the best protection. Apparanty this combination is used regularly in The States and is not licensed for his hospital. He has had to get a special agreement from the powers that be to allow me to have it! (Whoopee do!)He told me it will be tough with lots of side effects. I will have to take steroids around the days I have the treatment and get shots to promote blood cell growth too. At least I am having a port inserted on the 30th which should make life easier.
I have found a Triple Negative Breast Cancer support site online and have joined that for extra information so I will be keeping busy chatting to friends old and new!
