Hi Joe, sorry you are down, it must get to you after a while. I know I am fed up so can't imagine how you must be feeling. All I wanted to say is try not to expect too much of yourself, especially when you are down with MRSA which is very powerful and is bound to take it out of you both physically and emotionally.

I know you would say to anyone who had posted similar comments to "Stay Positive"
Its time to take care of yourself Joe.

Julie I am just talking in general I am tired of hospitals and Dr's knowing there are plenty more to come. Before I had BC I had other medical problems so adding them all together this is getting old. I do my own exercises each day they gave me when I got my left hip replaced right b4 I found out I had this BC. I got my hip replaced in 9/26/06 and then got this great news that Jan 07. One reason why I hate to write anything negative but if I could just get straightened out for awhile I can live with the routine checkups and I want these to stay on top of this disease. It's right now it's been one thing after another. Thanks for your reply. Cheers, Joe ;)

Joe, going to the hospital all the time gets old really fast. The MRSA infection left Dick about as low as he could be mentally and physically. He said he was "sick and tired of feeling sick and tired."
It is now almost two months since he was released from the hospital and he is feeling a lot better. The Home Health team provided a physical therapist who came out to the house and worked with him twice a week and she really helped him regain some of the strength he lost from being in bed so long. She fired him last week as he is now independent. He was probably ready a couple of weeks before but wasn't quite ready to let go.
As far as I am concerned no cancer is better than any. When you get bladder cancer it is for the long term for most people which means Dr. visits and procedures several times a year for years. Through determination we have practiced focusing on other things in our life as we don't want our life dominated by disease.
You will get better!

Hi Joe
Just wanted to send some support and say even though I am only three months in every day I dont have some sort of appointment is a blessing.Twelve months along I cant imagine what its like.
I cant imagine who would ever say this is a good cancer to get first of all is there one?Secondly who wants major surgery that effects their every day life in such a huge way.Lets not even get into that discussion .(just deleted about six sentances of rant)I am happy with my treatment choices but I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks a radical cystectomy is an easy option it sucks in a huge way.
I am really sorry that your infection turned out to be MRSA and really hope your soon feeling better.
Take care
Lisa

I was dx last Jan 07 with a 2 inch tumor on my bladder. From then it has been one test after another. I went to the Univ of Penn for my treatment and had my Turbt done there Stage3 invasive. I had my chemo done b4 my surgery so that was 3 months worth of that finished on 4/20. Then a 2 month break and my surgery was 6/20 and had a prior surgery about 6 years ago with the incision running horizontal so that didn't help things about 16 inches long. I felt like my second home was Penn between tests and Dr visits. I got lucky and my Path Report came back clean nonetheless it still changes your life. Then on the 1/7/08 I was admitted again to the hospital with an infection in my blood which turned out to be MRSA in my blood just great news. I am home now getting IV's I am set up withe the infusion team at Penn. This whole cancer thing just gets old and no matter how positive you try to be it does effect you. I have alot to be thankful for but my life ain't what it use to be I lost alot of stamina I use to have and that's hard to adjust to. Yes others have it better and some have it worst but what I have been through hasn't been a picnic. I read on this board one guy said his Dr told him if you get cancer this is the cancer to get. What kind of quack Dr compares cancers and what planet are they from. And obviously this guy hasn't seen what this cancer can do if he must have a real low stage. I wish no higher stage on anyone but don't come out and say this is the cancer to have if you are to get cancer what a crock. There are days I just get sick of this whole ordeal and Dr's and hospitals and more tests. Joe
