Just letting you know that I'm thinking of you and hoping that your biopsy goes well, and they find NED
Take care of you,
Dx 5/28/15 with 4.2cm x 2.2cm Ta HG Papillary TCC; 2nd TURBT 7/09/15, NED; 6 BCG completed 9/30/15; 3 sets of BCG maintenance completed 1/26/17. Six cystoscopes - all NED. Moving to scopes every 6 months, and no more BCG maintenance.
I'm keeping a stiff upper lip and will await the biopsy, getting tired of lying on the slab but I've done it before guess I'll do it again!
Diagnosed Sept 2015 noninvasive
1st turbt Oct 3 2015, 2nd turbt Nov 13 bladder,
Completed 6 BCG initial treatments 01/11/16 02/09/16 No Cancer!
08/09/16 Cyto shows red spots on bladder, TURBT prostate scheduled
09/12/16 Cancer is back Ta prostate ,T1 high grade bladder papillary uthelial....
As I have been told by my uro, a false positive cytology test is very likely to see after a course of intravesical treatments with a chemo agent. The cystoscopy will give you a much more reliable picture of the situation.
Please try to enjoy the holydays and not to worry too much.
Keep thinking positive thoughts.
Cytology has lots of false results; I don't even smile anymore when the cytology report is negative - I wait for the cystoscopy observation or the next biopsy report.
I guess it is of value for some people under some conditions, and as a non-invasive screening tool, but not so much for me. At least obtaining the sample requires only a simple, natural act. <rim shot>
Enjoy the holidays. Take a break. Work it out next year.
