I,also, hope that your stay is brief!! You will probably be given an antibiotic after the cystoscopy, just in case a bug or two crept in.

I'm having it at 1pm pacific time and I am nervous. I don't even want to hear the results. Thanks for your reply at least I know what to expect. I thought the doc was going to send me home with some antibiotics. Now I have all this tests. This is the last test and it appears my ct scan had minor findings. Also my urine test cytology? Was clear also. This forum is good to get info I never thought I would be surfing the BC forum. I hope and pray my stay is brief.

As you have probably found out by now, the cystoscopy is not such a big deal! The urologist looks inside your bladder with a small camera. He/she then has a much better idea of what might be there. IF it appears that there are tumors present, he will schedule you for a TURB (transurethral resection of the bladder) where, during a similar procedure while you are under general anesthesia, he will take samples of the suspicious areas to be send to a pathologist for microscopic analysis. Only after the results come back from the pathologist will he be sure what your diagnosis is.

Best of luck to you

I am having the cystoscopy procedure today. My ct scan revealed benign abnormalities in the ureters when they exit the kidneys with calcification. This is what the urology center told me when I called. They did not say anything about tumors in my bladder. I had blood in my urine once gross humerturia. And that was over a month ago. I have some discomfort in the bladder area pressure slight pain. I am hoping for the best. If anyone has any similar situation/symptoms please respond.
